For the first time, two heart valves have been operated at the National Medical College, Birgunj.
Ram Chandra Khatri, the National Coordinator of the National Heart and Lung Society, said that Sulman Hawari, 48, of Ranighat, Birgunj, had a double valve replacement.
Khatri said that the operation was performed on March 11. According to him, performing two heart valve surgeries in this way is a complex case. Khatri said that the entire cost of health treatment including air surgery was borne by the Czech Heart Foundation at the initiative of the National Heart and Lung Society.
Dr. Afroz Ansari, Senior Heart, Lung and Vascular Surgeon, National Medical College, Birgunj, Dr. Vishwas Pradhan, Cardiac Anesthesiologist, Dr. Vishwas Pradhan, General Secretary, National Heart, and Lung Society and Dr. Kaushal Kishore Tiwari, Senior Cardiologist Pandey and others had undergone heart surgery and treatment.
The man, who has been suffering from heart disease for several years, has had two heart valves replaced after the medicine did not cure him. According to the doctor, all the four valves of his heart worked well after the operation. He has been discharged on April 20 after his health condition returned to normal after the operation.
